Trivago Under Fire for Misleading Marketing TV Campaign

Hotel comparison site Trivago headed to court over accusations it misled Australian consumers with its advertisements. So reports Skift.

The company faces millions in fines for steering traffic to companies that paid it the best, rather than toward the cheapest hotel rooms. Trivago acknowledged its transgressions to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. The claims are each punishable by up to $800,000 in fines.
