Alcohol Ads Lead to ‘Risky Drinking’ in Aussie Youth: Study

A new study shows young Australians are encouraged to engage in “risky drinking” as a result of alcohol advertising. So reports Ad News.

The report considered how alcohol policy, outlet density, television advertising and newspaper coverage influence alcohol consumption in adolescents. Former AFL coach Mick Malthouse and former NRL player Steve Ella have publicly stated they support banning alcohol advertisements during sporting events.
