Google’s Latest Ad Move May Signal Hopes to Gain Favor in China

Google has halted advertisements in China for websites that “review anti-censorship software,” which is a sign the company is looking to appease Beijing. So report’s The Financial Times.

PNMentor and Top10VPN, companies that allow uses to avoid surveillance and bypass China’s online controls, said Google is now refusing to sell their ads. Google and Facebook are blocked by the nation’s “Great Firewall.” In 2010, Google shuttered its Chinese search engine after cyber-attacks and government blocks.
