Digital Part of Australian Ad Campaign Featuring Kylie Minogue Suspended as Fires Continue

The digital component of a multimillion dollar tourism advertising campaign starring Kylie Minogue has been suspended as the country battles its brushfire disaster. So reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

kylie minogue statue 286544 1280Some of the picturesque imagery in the ad, where the singer is performing Matesong, has led to criticism regarding its juxtaposition to the horror of those fleeing the inferno. The ads were filmed before the disaster reached its current levels and have now been paused “out of respect” for the victims.
