Australian Political Ad Debt Shines Spotlight on Lack of Transparency

As a result of the 2019 election, Australian political parties are in debt to Google for $9 million worth of advertising, but the content of those buys is unclear. So reports the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Further, that figure does not represent the full scope of the money owed to Google as outstanding debts settled before June 30 are not included. According to the article, Facebook launched an Ad Library allowing viewers to see, in real time, the ads it was running for the 2019 Australian election.
