Cyber-Criminals Could Use GDPR to Data Flood Businesses: Expert

Organizations not properly prepared may be at risk from cyber-attacks aimed at flooding companies with GDPR requests. So reports Silicon Republic.

A GDPR “Denial of Service” attack could lead to staff dealing with the requests for months. Attackers could repeatedly hack vulnerable targets, causing them to face crippling sanctions leading to broad infrastructure shut downs.

Russia could be laying the groundwork for such an attack, the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI recently warned.
