Contrary to at least one media claim, individuals who had their Facebook data improperly used by Cambridge Analytica probably are not entitled to payments of $17,500. So reports Snopes, a myth-debunking website.

The original article was based on claims that may apply to U.K. individuals who endured extreme suffering, but the likelihood of that happening because of the data breach is minimal.
