Don’t Count On An FTC Advertising Crackdown

A NetFlix documentary highlighted abuses on Instagram involving paid endorsements of the failed Fyre festival by celebrities, but don’t expect the Federal Trade Commission to crackdown on the problem. So reports Morning Consult.

Even with consumer advocates highlighting numerous examples of similar unethical behavior, the regulator’s limited resources and lack of rule-making ability hinder its capacity for addressing the problem.
