Taco Wars: Taco John’s Scores CMO from Del Taco

Barry Westrum, formerly CMO of Del Taco, has been named the new CMO of Taco John’s new CMO. So reports Restaurant Business Online.

taco 155812 1280Westrum is a veteran in the industry. He spent 20 years as senior director of brand marketing for Taco Bell. He also served as CMO for A&W, Long John Silver’s, and KFC. He used to be executive president for marketing for International Dairy Queen.

“Barry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team at Taco John’s,” Taco John’s CEO Jim Creel said in a statement. “He has been a leader in the industry for many years and has a proven track record of success working in marketing for several other popular quick-service restaurants. We have full confidence that his skills will add incredible value to our brand.”

Taco John’s is a 50-year-old-chain that operates and franchises more than 44 restaurants in 22 states.
