This follows growing concern by company employees about such a scenario and other political disinformation and inconsistent application of its rules. Facebook’s internal “workplace” platform has been buzzing about these topics recently.
In one example, a senior engineer at the firm collected and shared internal evidence that Facebook was giving special treatment to prominent conservatives by helping them delete fact-checks from the content they post and share. Facebook responding by firing the engineer, removing the post and restricting access to the information shared.
