Merck CMO Exits After Being Denied CEO Role

Merck said Michael Nally, chief marketing officer, Human Health, is leaving the firm at the end of the month. So reports The Pharma Letter.

merckAfter approximately two decades at Merck, Nally is departing to lead another yet unnamed company.

Frank Clyburn, who is currently the chief commercial officer of Human Health will take on a new role as president and lead Human Health commercial and marketing.

Nally, who formerly lead Merck’s global vaccine business, was said to be in the running for the CEO Role. Instead, the company went with CFO Robert Davis as its new chief executive. Davis, who takes the reigns at the start of July, has been at Merck for four years. So reports Endpoint News.

Clyburn will report to Davis beginning April 1.
