Specifically, Berland says she was reading a question from an employee, but that Project Veritas presented the audio as if it was her personal view and the view of the company.
The initial clip from Project Veritas was approximately a minute in length. The full audio of the 45 minute meeting was later released.
“Elon made it clear in public that a large part of the reason he bought the platform was because of our moderation policies and disagreements in how we deal with health,” Berland says in the short version. “This puts Twitter service and Trust and Safety, as well as anybody who cares about health on the platform, in a very difficult position."
The audio of the full meeting shows that Berland was reading a question from an employee. It also shows that the short clip had been altered, editing in other sections of the meeting into the released clip.
