Facebook Takes Legal Action Against Ad 'Cloaking' Engineer in Bangkok

Facebook has filed a lawsuit against Basant Gajjar, a Bangkok-based engineer, whose company gives advertisers the ability to circumvent the social media giant’s ad filters. So reports Campaign Asia-Pacific.

facebook 2429746 640 smallThe cloaking service has allegedly allowed “hundreds” of deceptive advertisements to run, including some related to COVID-19. LeadCloak, the company at the heart of the lawsuit, has been offering these services for years.

The company is also planning to use the lawsuit as a means to identify LeadCloak’s customers in order to take action against them.
