The app-maker says it is surprised by President Trump’s threat to ban the app from the country if it isn’t purchased by a US company within 45 days. Tiktok also threatened that it will sue the President over this move.
President Trump said that the app ‘threatens the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States,’ with the government claiming that the alleged data collection ‘threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information’.
