Burger King Marketing Bigwig Fernando Machado Quits

Fernando Machado, Global CMO of Restaurant Brands International (RBI), has quit just a few weeks after its Burger King brand’s “Women belong in the kitchen" campaign for International Women’s Day. So reports Forbes.

Burger KingThe campaign meant to support women in the culinary field, instead flopped. It’s not clear if Machado’s departure is in any way related to the botched campaign.

Machado, who has been with the company for seven years and CMO since January of last year, has reportedly accepted the CMO job with Activision Blizzard, a video game company. Paloma Azulay, who was serving as CMO of Popeyes, which is owned by RBI, will become RBI’s global chief brand officer.
