From Ballgirl to CMO: Melissa Proctor’s Road to CMO of the NBA’s Hawks

In 1995, 15-year old Melissa Proctor desperately wanted to work for the Miami Heat and called the organization daily begging for a role… any role. She eventually was offered an unpaid job as the organization’s first female ball attendant. Today, Proctor is the CMO of the Atlanta Hawks. So reports ESPN.

HawksLater, after college she moved to Atlanta for a professional opportunity and also volunteered for the Atlanta Hawks as a ball attendant. Then, after studying in London, she got a call from the Hawks in 2014 and they wanted her to be vice president of brand strategy. In 2016, she was promoted to CMO of the Hawks and State Far Arena.
